Our adrenal glands are responsible for making our body’s hormones. If we are under stress our bodies really struggle to regulate and to release important hormones like cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine.
The key is to try and manage your stress levels before you hit adrenal fatigue. Exercise as well as getting enough sleep has been proven to help reduce stress. It’s also really important to reduce any stimulants like coffee and sugary snacks and drinks from your diet. Eating a nutritious, healthy diet will benefit you hugely when you are trying to take control of your stress and can help towards avoiding adrenal fatigue.
If your cortisol levels are too high, your immune system will fail to work efficiently making you more susceptible to all sorts of illnesses.
The best stress manager has to be learning to breathe correctly. Try some yoga and to take some time out to meditate. Switch off from from everything that appears to be causing you stress, after all, life won’t stop when you stop to take a minute for yourself.
